Computer classes for seniors!
In March, the Library will sponsor classes on the Internet, email, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. One-hour prerequisite classes for those wishing to learn basic keyboard and mouse skills will be held in February. In February and April, sessions will be held on e-readers; Skype; digital photography tools; and Facebook. Click HERE for more details.

Create trading cards
Starting Saturday, February 11, at 1 pm, YAs (pre-teens and teens) are invited to come to the library to use a variety of media to create cards to trade with friends. Click HERE for more details. -
Classics book discussion group
The next Classics Book Discussion Group meeting will be on Monday, February 13, at 10 a.m. The book under discussion will be Ethan Frome, by Edith Wharton. Copie of the book are available at the Library, or can be downloaded from www.gutenberg.org.The program is free and open to the public; sign up at the Library or call 508-428-5175.
Harp and heartstrings
Celebrate Valentine's Day with a 6:30 pm reception, followed by a Celtic harp concert given by Irish harpist Trish NiGabhain! Trish performs traditional and contemporary Irish and folk music. The concert will include love songs and tunes from the Irish tradition. Winter book sale
The Library's Winter Book Sale will take place on February 23-25, during the Library's open hours. Donations of books in good, sale-able condition are welcome, especially in the week prior to the sale.-
Family game night
On Tuesday, February 28, from 6-8 pm, Matt Donle will entertain us with programs featuring newly published board and interactive games -
Travels to the Serengeti
On March 8, at 7:00 pm, Barnstable residents Kathy McShane and Ted Lowrie will amaze us with slides and videos taken during a visit to Tanzania and the Serengeti last year. Menu for the Future
A discussion based upon the book by this name will be held in three sessions at the library on March 6, March 20, and April 3. Join this examination of the effects of modern industrial agriculture on both human and ecological health, explore emerging food system alternatives, and discuss how we as individuals can contribute to a more sustainable food supply. New data bases available!
The seven Barnstable village libraries have received funding from the Town's Kirkman fund to provide access to several new data bases: World Book, Learning Express, and Mango. These resources are available on the Reading & Research page of our web site.-
Change in library hours!
Effective December 1, 2011, the Library is open at 10 am on Fridays. This change will help you remember the hours more easily, as the Library will open every day at 10 am (except Sunday).
