The following Internet sites are great places to start for help with homework assignments!

Great Websites for Kids - a comprehensive site from The Association for Library Service to Children, listing links to different subject resources.

Young Adult Library Services Association- a great literature-related site from the American Library Association, designed especially for teens.

The Homework Center - sponsored by Multnomah County Public Library, links to resources arranged by school subject.

Yahooligans! - Yahoo's search engine for kids has loads of information arranged by category.  A good combination of educational and entertainment links. (Beware--lots of ads.)

Crayola.com Coloring, card making and arts and crafts from Crayola.
The "Art Detective" This "Private Eye" story is also a lesson in art history and analyzing paintings. Grades 4-6.
Art Teacher on the Net If you scroll down past the busy and hard to read beginning section, you can find links to all sorts of art information and projects. Might help to have a parent, caregiver, or teacher with you.
Kinderart Take an art lesson or find a craft for any theme at Kinderart! Loads of seasonal ideas.

HISTORY

Anne Frank Learn about Anne Frank, a teenage victim of the Holocaust, at the Anne Frank Center's site. This site is probably best viewed together with a parent, caregiver, or teacher.
Oregon Trail A fact-filled site about the important pathway to America's west during the mid-1800s. Grades 6 and up.
History for Kids! This site is dedicated to teaching human history in the most accessible way possible, for kids, persons with disabilities and ESL students.

Primary Games Language Arts Again, a great site for youngsters.
Education Place FAKE OUT! A really good vocabulary site from Houghton Mifflin for ages 8+. (Also check out eduplace.com for more educational resources.)

Guinness World Records If you want to know who has the longest toenails, and other wild records (WARNING: some of this stuff is gross), this is your site!
Currency Converter How much is your dollar worth in euros, or your escudo in ringgits?
Bartlett's Quotations Find the perfect quotation for any subject. Great for writing on cards, starting or finishing essays or reports, or memorizing to sound really intelligent. Make sure you acknowledge the person who originally wrote it!
World Flags Gorgeous flags from around the world, presented in alphabetical order.

Funbrain Games in all subject areas, as well as additional resources.
Education 4 Kids Grades K-12; good for classrooms and tutors. Flash cards and drills in all subject areas, but you have to become a member to use all the resources.
Students' Classroom A classroom site fromthe U.S. Dept. of Education's National Center for Education Statistics. For grades 4 and up.
The Kaboose Network's funschool Preschool to Grade 6. A nice mix of fun and learning, but quite a few ads. (Also check out kidsdomain.com.)
